Role & approach
This project focused on the concepting and pilot phase of a youth-targeted digital police service aimed at school safety and teenage topics. I worked as a UX designer in close collaboration with internal service designers and developers, exploring multiple interaction models and validating them through research and iteration. My role centered on translating early insights into concrete UX concepts.
Problem
Teenagers often experience low perceived safety at school, while existing police channels feel formal and intimidating. This creates a gap where early signals of unsafe situations remain unshared.
Solution
Avatar-based conversational AI concept called "Ask Anna", with Anna being a calm, approachable guide, featuring inclusive avatar variations to support identification. A clear choice-driven entry flow lets users decide whether they want to vent, get advice, or optionally receive guidance toward contacting police or a trusted adult. Other avatars besides Anna are also introduced.
